The aim of the circular economy is to create a closed-loop system where resources are continuously reused, recycled, or regenerated, so as to reduce or prevent use of virgin resources.
It’s an alternative to the traditional linear economy, where resources are extracted, transformed into products, used, and then discarded as waste; also described as the “take-make-dispose” model.
